The volunteer accompaniment-transportation service is a transportation service provided by a volunteer driver as part of the activities of a community and volunteer organization recognized by the Centre intégré santé et services sociaux (CISSS). 

Forme 

Accompaniment service: 

  • Intended for people 55 years of age and older. 

  • Accompanies anyone in need of physical support, comfort or supervision. 

  • Targets people who cannot find the necessary resources for this service in their entourage. 

  • Above all, responds to the person’s need for support 

Forme 

Financial compensation: 

  • The volunteer receives financial compensation for the mileage. 

  • The costs related to accompaniment and transportation are counted from the volunteer’s place of residence. 

  • The compensation rate is reviewed annually by the Board of Directors. 

The role of volunteers is to participate, motivate and provide the necessary help to the participants of the day activities. They also participate in the preparation and service of meals. 

The volunteer is responsible for completing the tax returns properly using the computerized program provided by the Canada Revenue Agency. 

The volunteer visits seniors in the Aylmer sector to break the isolation by listening. 

The volunteer regularly makes calls to certain seniors in the Aylmer sector to ensure their well-being and to listen to them. 

This service provides support to seniors in Aylmer with completing various types of forms.
Examples include: passport applications, immigration or Canadian citizenship applications, employment insurance applications, social assistance applications, disability benefit forms, pension documents, applications for adapted transportation with the STO, and more.
